I'm Matthew Tidwell, a Northern-Virginia based designer specializing in Graphic Design, Communications, and Illustration. I recently graduated from Purdue University, where I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Visual Communications Design and a minor in Art History.
I have a strong background in communications + design, with over 7 years of experience between professional and academic settings. Through my efforts and pre-existing knowledge, I am comfortable working flexibly in fast-paced environments. I am able to pick up new tasks quickly and efficiently to develop concepts into realized messages.
My goal as a designer is to bring life and energy to inspiring ideas through graphic design. I achieve this through my mastery of the Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and strong communication tactics. I convey myself and my motivation through my work and my flourishing interest in the world around me.
I am a leader and a naturally empathetic, a trait emphasized through my work and in my demeanor. I have developed multiple personal projects , including the 'Mind Map' Podcast, various illustrated tabletop campaigns, and countless personal artworks. I have a decade of experience using Photoshop and Illustrator to create anything from logo designs to memes. I've strengthened my teams through my leadership roles in prior workspaces, fostered + developed online communities through Discord, and have years of experience in the customer service industry honing my charisma, problem-solving, and flexible decision making.
